How to show your product in a video
Take some pictures
If you haven’t already, now is the time to take some quality photos or videos of your product. If you’re not sure which camera is best to use, check out this article on the best video cameras for beginners. You want to make sure that your product is shot in good lighting using these techniques and that the footage won’t move with a gimbal or tripod. Try recording a video of someone showing your product step by step, or going over its features and benefits.
Make a screen recording
If you are creating a screen recording, we recommend that you use the Quicktime screen recorder
on Mac or the built-in screen recorder for Windows. Make sure to move the mouse slowly and perform each movement smoothly to ensure that viewers can easily follow your recording. You can also record your voice using Simple Voice Recorder for Mac or Windows Voice Recorder
Make sure you speak clearly into your computer’s microphone – you don’t feel too close or too far – and do some tests to make sure you can be heard well.
Create a video slideshow
Take some photos of your product or people using your product to use in your video slideshow. Make sure the images are clear and show your product in the best light.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating amazing video tutorials
Go to Clipchamp’s free video editor
When you have gathered all the images and are ready to start creating your video, go to the video editor in the Clipchamp browser to start creating your video tutorial. You can sign up for a free Create account and get started right away.
Start a new project
Click start new project to begin.
Select the aspect ratio
Choose the aspect ratio for your video. We recommend using a wide format (16: 9) as it is perfect for YouTube videos and easily adapts to any screen recording.
Add your footage
Drag and drop or browse to add your footage or recording to the library. Create’s video editor automatically saves your projects as you go, but if you close the editor, you may need to relink your files.
Create an introduction
Begin your video tutorial with a 5-second introduction. Every video tutorial you create should have a memorable and entertaining introduction.
Add your footage to the timeline
Select your multimedia footage and drag it onto the timeline. Put it in the order you prefer.
Crop your video
Use the Split Clip tool to reduce the footage to your preferred length, or drag the highlighted blue bar to shorten the clip. Make sure the clips are not longer than necessary.
Speed up your video
If you think your video tutorial is too slow, speed it up with the Clip Speed tool. There are three speeds to choose from, slow, normal, and fast.
Add a closure
After completing the tutorial edit, add a closure to your video. It can be as simple as an overlay of text to the last existing clip in the tutorial or adding an additional stock or media file. Thank your viewers for watching the video, add your brand, social media, and website links.
Add background music and a voiceover
Let’s go with the audio. Browse the stock audios and choose a soft and relaxed piece of music that doesn’t overpower your voice-over. Make sure to change the volume level when you have inserted your music into your timeline and progressively decrease the volume at the end.
Add transitions and effects
Add some cool transitions between your clips, especially after the intro and before closing. Filters and animations can be added once you’ve selected your clip. Transitions and effects will bring your tutorial to life and make it more visually pleasing to viewers.
Export your file
Finally, exporting your video tutorial is the final step to complete it. You can find the Export Video button in the upper right corner of your screen. You will then be given three resolution options, standard definition (480p), high definition (720p), and very high definition (1080p). If you are uploading it to YouTube, very high definition is recommended.
Distribute your video tutorial on the right channels
Share on social networks
Clipchamp now offers the option to “Share your video” when it is exported. This feature allows users to easily share their creations through social networks: Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Reddit, and WhatsApp. An easily accessible link is also presented so you can use, copy, share and save it forever.
Embed in a blog or website
Clipchamp also offers an easy-to-use embedded link for users to paste onto their website or blog. It’s as simple as clicking the “Embed” button under the “Share your video” option.
